ABOUT

Hi! I’m Ana, a freelance web & graphic designer based in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

ratONcrack is a chihuahua and my online portfolio, all at the same time. Nice, eh?

I create simple functional websites, which are web standards compliant. I specialise in web interface design, identity/print design, front-end web development and semantic XHTML/CSS construction.

CONTACT

I'm not big on social-networking, so there will be no hi5, Myspace, Facebook or Orkut profiles messing up this page. I'm actually more of an SMS, chat and email person.
Use them wisely.

PORTFOLIO

  • URL: www.otinteiro.com (old page)
    STATUS: Under construction

A new store just opened at the end of my street, a store where one can recycle old print cartridges, personalize tshirts, cups, gifts, etc. Lots of these little stores have been popping up all around the city, but I've never talked so much and so often with people working there. Maybe it's because it's right next to my house? Who knows.

  • STATUS: Active

I am a huge fan of tattooes so when I wanted to have a cover-up done I knew exactly where to go. Alex, owner, revealed he wanted a new website, a website easier to manage (uploading new art scans or recently done tattooes for his gallery was a must), we came to a deal. A website for a tattoo.

  • STATUS: Printed

An NGO I have worked with for many years, AJPaz, has had a new project approved and to reach out to a younger audience they wanted a set of 5 banners, that would sum up all that the project is about.

  • STATUS: Printed

A friend needed a simple flyer for a marketing party her company was throwing. It was all about coctails.

  • STATUS: Printed

Every year there are thousands of workcamps around the world. I made a poster for one of them, taking place in a small village nearby. Main purpose of this workcamp was to clear the path to some of the forgotten water mills.

  • STATUS: Rejected

A reader of my blog asked me to re-design his company's website.

  • STATUS: Printed

A small booklet was needed to present and explain the idea of "Solidary Market" (def: a place where one changes a service or a product for another service or product, money not allowed.) to locals of a small village.
Number 1 was a success, now working on #2.

    STATUS: Under construction

A friend specializes in Portuguese street tiling and is about to open his own business. To get as much exposure as possible he also wants a webpage. I made three mock-ups, shown here is the chosen design (other two on zoom).

  • STATUS: Printed

A logo and a leaflet were needed to give a new project its identity. For the logo I was told to incorporate a map of the region where most of project's activities will be held.

    STATUS: Mock-up

Friend owns a small company that manufactures protective roofs for swimming pools. Tho current webpage looks hidious (and does not pass any validation tests!), she does not want to update it. My persuading techniques must really be bad.

  • URL: www.smocl.com (old page)
    STATUS: mock-up

A youth centre I used to hang out at is in dire need of a make-over. Even tho this is a very old mock-up (2006), I still think it'd be a lot better than their current page. And I know what I'm talking about, because - as ashamed as I am to admit it - I was the one putting the old page together. I shall burn in design and coding hell, I know so.

  • STATUS: Printed

NGOs around Portugal have stepped together to start raising awareness (and funding) and help the Saharaui people, living in Morroco.

  • STATUS: Printed

A folder and a certificate were requested for a conference on informal education.

  • STATUS: Active

Inox products are on the rise, and this company is one of the most inovative in Slovenia.

  • URL: www.iskratravel.eu
    STATUS: Offline

There are thousands of travel agencies, but this one wanted to be different. They were hoping to be able to show the wonders of rural tourism to a greater number of people, focusing mostly on the Balkan area. Lack of funding shut down this idea.

  • STATUS: Printed

Friend held a small private party to celebrate his birthday. To make it look a bit more "lush" he had fliers printed, and because he likes the city of Lisbon it pictured the famous no.28 tram.

  • STATUS: Printed

In light of 40 years of May '68 a small group of students held a debatte in Lisbon with the leader of their favourite political party. This was the poster they used. Instructions were to use "revolutionary" images and colors red and green.

  • STATUS: Printed

I love Dunny toys, I wish I had one. So far all I've got is this t-shirt.
    Template available on request.

  • STATUS: distributed

We all have friends around the world, and keeping in touch is already hard enough. Adding to that holidays and birthdays and anniversaries and and and.. This is the Xmas card I was sending around last year. I think everybody got the point. Happy holidays!

  • STATUS: Rejected

"Mercado solidário" flyer, main target group students. Unfortunately this mock-up was rejected, the image of a shopping cart wasn't taken as lightly as was intended. Sarcasm fail. (Accepted mock-up on zoom.)
